All individuals who seek COR Basic Certification in any of its
Group Leadership and Professional Helping areas must demonstrate
competence in all of ten foundational ways:
- These Foundational content competencies (FC):
FC1: Demonstrates evidence of ongoing content learning in area(s) of group leadership/professional helping
- These Foundational skill competencies (FS):
FS1: Maintains confidentiality and discretion
FS2: Ability to engage in active listening
FS3: Manages boundaries in professional relationships and interactions
FS4: Seeks, receives, and incorporates constructive feedback in future endeavors
FS5: Demonstrates ability to establish rapport with diverse individuals and groups
- These Foundational dispositional competencies (FD):
FD1: Demonstrates personal and professional consistency in respect for others
FD2: Possesses authentic personal and professional humility
FD3: Acts consistently with ethical principles
FD4: Operates from the stance of a professional helping relationship
